Welcome to our (Suzuka) F1 22 Japan Setup (dry) page! Japan is home to the Suzaka F1 22 race track, one of the most challenging and technical tracks on the F1 circuit. The high-speed layout places a premium on aerodynamic efficiency, and the tight turns require a very precise driving line. As a result, Japan is often seen as a key battleground for the constructor’s championship. In order to maximize performance at Suzaka, teams will often make significant changes to their car’s setup. This includes things like adjusting the front and rear wing angles, ride height, tire pressure, and suspension settings. With so many variables to consider, nailing the perfect setup is a real challenge for even the most experienced engineers. However, getting it right can be the difference between winning and losing. For that reason, Japan is always one of the most exciting races on the F1 calendar. For our setup, we have gone with a higher downforce-based setup on the car, with lower differential settings for good rotation. Happy racing!

With the new aero settings, we are recommending 28-34 wing angles for this part of the race setup. Japan has some tricky medium speed sections, and getting the line right is critical. Our advice is to start with higher aero and work your way down if you are struggling.

Differential Adjustment On Throttle – 65%

Differential Adjustment Off Throttle – 60%

Transmission is a critical area of the setup for traction, affecting acceleration, grip, rotation, tyre wear, and drivability. Increasing the On Throttle Differential will make the car more stable on acceleration, however, will increase tyre wear. For the Suzuka setup we will use 65%/60%. This will aid rotation in the long corners while keeping the car stable on worn tyres later in the stint. Increasing rear diff will improve straight-line acceleration and stability on corner exits (again, at the end of the stint on worn tyres this may be an challenge), however, will come with a slight cost on wear. This is the part of the setup that we found gets adjusted the most from session to session. Lower is quicker here, so if you can handle the car, reduce both values by 5.

Suspension adjustments impact responsiveness and stability through corners. This is probably the most personal area of the Japan setup, so if you are struggling with rotation then the anti-roll bars are where you should start. Ride height plays a much more important role in F1 22 than previous F1 games, so the keep the rear high to avoid the diffuser bottoming out at high speed. Floor damage can ruin performance, so a higher than usual ride height here should help protect those delicate aerodynamic surfaces. Here we have went for a firm front to give good responsiveness, with a softer rear to help with traction round those longer corners. 

Brakes Setup

Brake Pressure – 95%

Front Brake Bias – 50%

For players on controller, brake pressure setups can have minimal impact. If you use ABS, maintain 100% brake pressure. Otherwise, see above.

Tyre pressures can have a huge impact on wear and traction. Typically high rear pressures and lower front pressures are the way to go, however increasing all pressures here will result in faster lap times. You will pay in front wear, but if you are finding this not to be an issue then increase up to the maximum. For Japan’s long loads in the corners, we have went relatively high on all four corners of the car.

This is the fastest dry Japan Setup for F1 22! This setup is not recommended for anything longer than a 5-lap race, as you will experience some high rates of tyre wear through the stint. We use this to top the time trial leaderboards and show off to our mates 😀

For the Japan setup transmission adjustments, 53%/50% is best. This means the car will rotate faster, balancing with the low area settings to allow you to move quickly through slower-speed corners. If you are spinning out, the first thing you should do is increase these settings.
