Drive to Survive Renewed for Season 5 and 6
The first four series of the show are available on Netflix
Formula 1 announced that the popular Netflix docuseries Drive To Survive had been extended for seasons 5 and 6 ahead of the first Miami Grand Prix.
The series follows the lives of Formula 1 drivers and their teams as they journey through the racing world. The show has a strong following and is credited with helping grow Formula 1’s popularity in recent years.

According to Netflix and Formula 1, the series is in the Top 10 for the premium streaming service in 56 countries. Drive to Survive has contributed to the globalisation of Formula 1 by shedding light on drivers’ personalities and the political fights that happen behind the scenes.
It wasn’t by chance that the news was made before the Miami Grand Prix. The popularity of the docuseries has been credited with helping Liberty Media’s Formula 1 gain traction in the United States. F1 has long desired to enter this market, and it has now done so. Drive to Survive effect on the United States has been particularly noticeable. Las Vegas joined Miami and Austin as the third American event in F1 next year.
However, Drive To Survive is not widely loved in the paddock. Even top Formula 1 officials have expressed reservations about how the sport is presented.
Due to his concerns about the overdramatization, reigning World Champion Max Verstappen declined to be personally interviewed in the most recent season, triggering discussions between F1 and the show’s producers.
Season 4 didn’t exactly receive a standing ovation from viewers who had grown tired of the made-up drama. This year, the series’ Rotten Tomatoes score plunged.
